![]() The four year program combines traditional art and digital technology with a fast-paced, hands on, approach to learning. The Creative Centre is a Creative Industry training program that develops advanced skills in art, animation and design. Visual Arts Non-Traditional (AWT3/4MP) and one of the following:ĭigital Technology and Innovations in the Changing World (ICD2O1) Visual Art (AVI2OP) and one of the following: Visual Art - Expressions of First Nations, Métis and Inuit Cultures (NAC1OP) Students can enhance their learning and gain valuable experience exploring intersections of digital media, traditional arts, and other industries such as engineering, business and social sciences. The program combines drawing and computer-based technology to develop skills including digital imaging, 3-D animation, photography, videography, web, and magazine creation.Īdditional opportunities in the program include co-operative education (2 or 4 credits) and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) SHSM. The aim is to prepare students for success as both technicians and visionaries. The focus of the program is to foster students’ creative expression, technical proficiency and academic skills while encouraging independent work habits and strong communication skills. Students may choose to be part of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM). Students will be awarded a certificate upon graduation. Each year students earn two credits, one in Visual Arts and one in either Communications Technology, Technological Design, or Information Computer Studies. The Creative Arts and Design Studio is a four-year multidisciplinary program that integrates Visual Arts, Communications Technology, Digital Media and Design. Students will be admitted in Grades 10 if space is available. ![]() In November 2023, students may apply for admission to Grades 9 and 10. Two of: Dance (ATP2OP), Music (AMC2OP), Drama (ADA2OP) Two of: Dance (ATP1OP), Music (AMC1OP), Drama (ADA1OP) In Grades 11 and 12, all Claude Watson students will select one Arts area of focus from within their respective program and will also take a second “Collaborative Arts” course where they will focus on creating with all other Claude Watson students in their grade. Students will apply to either the Performance Studies or Visual Studies program at Claude Watson. Students will be admitted in Grade 10 if space is available. In addition to classes, schools will have a variety of extracurricular opportunities in the Arts for students to participate in. These programs are designed to support students who are passionate about the Arts! At the Secondary level, while courses are offered in every subject area, students applying to these programs must be interested in focusing their elective courses in the Arts as they work towards their Diploma.Įveryone is welcome to come and join our Arts-based communities! Students registered in the program/school will be expected to take two art courses each year.
